Just around the corner from Duval Street at 428 Greene Street is Captain Tony's Saloon. This is rumored to be the "First Gay Bar" in Key West. It was the watering hole of a young Ernest Hemingway when he first arrived in Key West in 1928. The bar was called the Blind Pig and was a notorious speakeasy during Phrohibition days.
